The Annual Allan Martin Lecture Tribal Visuality and the Politics of Indigenous Art: 'Mary Sully: Native Modern' Revisited

Presented by ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences

Join us for this special event with guest speaker Philip J. Deloria (Dakota descent), Leverett Saltonstall Professor of History at Harvard University. Professor Deloria, great-nephew of Mary Sully, will draw on the experience of bringing Sully鈥檚 work to the museum world and the general public to discuss some of the cultural politics surrounding Native arts at a moment when attention has either ignored or transcended the usual cycles of attention and disregard.
